Lafourche Parish Pupil Appraisal Center

Audiologist

The Lafourche Parish School Board employs audiologists whose services are provided at several sites:  PAC, The Center in Cut Off, and in the Lafourche Parish public schools.

These services include:

• audiological assessment prior to multidisciplinary evaluation

• routinely scheduled audiological re-evaluations of students who have been diagnosed as Hearing Impaired or are considered to be at-risk for this diagnosis

• requisition of and follow-up on classroom amplification systems for use by students with hearing impairments

• notification to principals and other school personnel regarding the need for classroom modifications, such as preferential seating

Additionally, teachers of the Hearing Impaired are employed to provide specialized instruction and rehabilitation to students with hearing impairments.

Coordination of the above services is located at PAC.
