School Social Worker

    School Social Workers serve as the therapeutic link between the student's school, home, and community.   They function as a member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the student's academic and social success.  This service is generally provided in the following ways:

• crisis intervention

• individual and group counseling

• support groups

• visits to student's home

• social-development assessments

• parent education

• multidisciplinary collaboration

• collaboration with community agencies

• administration and supervision of pupil services programs

• staff development

• policy development
